We're looking for a motivated and adaptable Production Supervisor to join our Bendigo team and play a pivotal role in supporting our continued growth and success.
The Role
We're seeking a people-first Production Supervisor who thrives on developing others and bringing structure, clarity and energy to daily operations. You'll guide and empower our second-in-charge roles and broader fabrication and warehouse teams, while ensuring production schedules, resources and materials stay aligned to project timelines. Partnering with the Production Manager, you'll support our DIFOT goals, tackle workflow challenges early and lead a culture of safety, organisation and improvement.
What You'll Do
* Apply outstanding people leadership skills to coach, empower and further develop our highly capable second-in-charge roles in our warehouse and fabrication spaces, as well as the broader team consisting of a yardsman, welders, trades assistants.
* Create, manage and communicate production schedules to meet project milestones and dispatch dates, bringing the whole team on the journey.
* Use highly attuned planning and organisational skills to allocate work based on skills, capacity, priorities and project requirements.
* Work closely with the Production Manager to achieve and maintain our delivery in full and on time (DIFOT) targets, through supporting ongoing improvements to workplace efficiencies and the timely address of delays, bottlenecks or resource constraints.
* Collaborate with our Procurement & Inventory Coordinator to ensure the timely delivery of materials and address or elevate shortages before they impact production.
* Oversee the maintenance and calibration of tools, plant and equipment to prevent workflow interruptions.
* Lead by example in the promotion of safe work practices, including strong housekeeping in the workshop and yard and encouraging a reporting culture.
* Support the Production Manager in the identification and implementation of corrective or preventative improvements.
What We're Looking For
* 3 - 5 years' experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
* Strong capability in leadership and communication.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings (AS 1100) to inform sound planning decisions.
* Proficient in the use of ERP systems and scheduling tools.
* Experienced with job tracking and reporting dashboards.
* Excellent time management skills, with the ability to be flexible in response to unexpected changes or challenges.
* Qualifications or previous working experience in welding/fabrication and/or warehouse operations is desirable, though not essential.
