**The opportunity**
We are seeking motivated individuals for **two permanent part-time Medical Secretary roles**. With a Monday-to-Friday schedule, an hourly rate of **$37.90**, and a dynamic work setting at **Icon Cancer Centre, Southport**, this is more than just a job—it's a career-defining opportunity.

This is no ordinary Medical Secretary position. You'll be at the heart of a connected team, combining **Reception**, **Practice Management**, and **Secretarial Duties** to provide seamless care for patients and vital support for a dedicated group of healthcare professionals.

**_What You'll Be Doing:_**

**_Reception & Patient Care_**
- _Be the welcoming face and voice for patients, ensuring they feel supported every step of the way._
- _Manage patient admissions, verify private healthcare details, and process co-pays and other payments._
- _Oversee patient flow, ensuring a smooth experience from arrival to departure._

**_Administrative Excellence_**
- _Rotate between front reception and day hospital reception, taking on early and late shifts as needed._
- _Update and maintain accurate patient records, referrals, and treatment details._
- _Organise theatre and hospital bookings using cutting-edge systems like CHARM and Totalcare._

**_Collaboration & Leadership_**
- _Work closely with our team of doctors and support staff to deliver exceptional service._
- _Actively support workplace health and safety (WHS) initiatives and embody Icon's values in your daily interactions._

**About You**:
**To thrive in this role, you'll bring**:

- Proficiency in **Medicare, DVA, and Private Health Insurance** processes.
- **Exceptional organisational** and time management skills.
- **Outstanding communication** and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in **Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel**.
- A **client-first mindset** and a passion for delivering excellent service.
- A basic understanding of **medical terminology** (bonus points if you have experience in a similar role).
