Role Overview
Brisbane Grammar School seeks a dedicated and experienced EALD teacher to support the educational growth of students with English as an Additional Language.
Job Description:
* Develop and provide evidence-based intervention programs for students requiring additional language support.
* Assist students in accessing mainstream academic programs by planning and delivering targeted teaching interventions.
The ideal candidate will have experience in EALD teaching, be able to understand and respond to the learning needs of students in relation to second and subsequent language learning, and possess appropriate teaching qualifications and full registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure the initial and ongoing assessment of EALD students;
* Plan and implement effective interventions and pedagogical approaches;
* Deliver targeted teaching intervention for students at particular levels of EALD need;
* Pursue professional development opportunities;
* Communicate effectively with teaching colleagues, parents, students, and administrative staff.
