Airport Manager – Responsibilities
Service Delivery
Participate in, manage, and oversee Star Aviation's day-to-day ground handling across customer services, bag room, ramp and cabin cleaning operations.
Lead and manage operational staff to ensure appropriate oversight of daily operations through provision of general and direct guidance to the team.
Plan and manage staff resources to ensure schedule delivery, cost and service levels are met.
Investigate delays and service failures and work with the relevant internal and external teams to resolve.
Ensure all ground handling services are performed to the highest standard and in accordance with the Contract summary, with any additional service items raised to the Regional Airport Manager to invoice separately.
Assist with the calculation of budgets and cost models.
Develop and maintain relationships with key airport personnel, liaising with airport operators to ensure airport facilities meet Star Aviation's requirements.
Management of equipment and vehicles
Responsible for the provision of equipment and vehicles that are used for operational purposes at the airport.
Ensure the safe and secure operation of all equipment.
Review and follow up on reports of any equipment malfunction.
People Management
Lead and manage the team operationally to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, safety obligations and cost efficiency.
Promote and drive a safety culture across the team.
Manage performance issues across all levels, ensuring staff are competent in their roles.
Training
In collaboration with Senior Manager Operational Excellence and Training, identify any training requirements to improve service delivery.
Schedule appropriate training sessions for training delivery and verification.
Prepare for, conduct, and document both training delivery and assessments, using approved airline training programs to address company's training needs.
Mandatory Requirement
The role requires the ability to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
Candidates must hold valid photo identification and successfully meet all background and security clearance requirements.
Candidate Profile
We're looking for a highly competent individual with previous experience in the operational requirements of ground handling across above and below wing operations who can develop and implement business improvements and change management strategies.
To succeed, you'll need to be a strong people leader, able to manage, motivate and lead teams, possess excellent time-management skills, work in a fast-paced environment and be customer focused.
