The Registered Nurse provides high-quality healthcare services to clients in their homes. This includes performing health assessments, creating care plans, administering medications and treatments, monitoring vital signs, providing wound care, and educating patients and their families on self-care techniques.
Business Management
* Communication and Coordination: Facilitate communication and coordination among the multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals involved in clients care, including physicians, nurses, therapists, etc.
Work Health & Safety
* Identify and assess potential risks in the home care environment and implement measures to mitigate those risks.
* Conduct incident investigations, reviewing safety procedures, and implementing corrective actions.
* Ensure that the Franchise follows all relevant health and safety regulations and standards.
* Participates in WHS committees or meetings to provide input and feedback on workplace safety issues.
Business Development
* Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders. This may include establishing relationships with healthcare professionals, community organisations, and government ü Attendance and participation in community outreach events.
Operations
As part of the role, the Registered Nurse may also be responsible for overseeing and coordinating various nursing care activities, such as wound care, catheter changing, and other clinical procedures.
Some specific objectives related to nursing care that a Registered Nurse may performed includes:
* Assessing and monitoring the consumer s vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate, and adjusting the care plan as needed.
* Ensuring that the consumer s wounds are properly cleaned, dressed, and monitored for signs of infection or other complications.
* Changing catheters or other medical devices as needed and monitoring the consumer s condition for any adverse reactions or complications.
* Administer medications as prescribed by the consumer s physician and monitor client for any potential side effects or adverse reactions.
* Collaborating with other members of the healthcare team, such as physicians, nurses, and therapists, to ensure that the consumer receives holistic and coordinated care.
* Maintains accurate records of consumer care, including assessments, care plans, progress notes, and incident reports.
* Complete accurate and timely documentation of all consumer s assessments, care plans, and other relevant information.
* Administer medications, treatments, and other nursing interventions in accordance with the care plan.
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of consumers to identify their unique care needs, preferences, and goals.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
* Bachelor s degree in nursing.
* Minimum of 1 years of experience as a Nurse in the Community.
* Understanding of relevant legislation, policies and guidelines governing the provision of home care services, such as the Aged Care Quality Standards, Home Care Common Standards and the National
* Disability Insurance Scheme.
* Demonstrated intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office 365 and various other software applications.
Probity Requirements
* A National Criminal Clearance Check less than 6 months old prior to engagement: and subsequent
* criminal records checks at least once every two years.
* AHPRA Registration.
