Senior Civil Engineer Job Overview
We are seeking motivated professionals to join our water infrastructure projects based in Wollongong.
This is an exciting opportunity for talented Senior Civil Engineers experienced in delivering water infrastructure solutions to work on our NSW-based water team, working from Wollongong.
About the Role:
* Plan and coordinate specific projects with project managers to deliver agreed outputs on time and to quality standards.
* Manage civil engineering, design management, and project management tasks including feasibility studies, detailed designs, and construction support of water and wastewater infrastructure as lead or member of a larger team.
* Perform diverse water and wastewater infrastructure engineering design tasks, including drawings, reports, presentations, and applications to regulatory agencies.
* Engage in the development of conceptual, preliminary and detailed designs through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats, and prepare documentation in various phases including site plans, utility profiles, grading plans, cross sections, and submittal reviews.
* Prepare portions of engineering project proposals, client contact, and communication pertaining to specific projects.
* Coordinate technical activities and designs with personnel in other disciplines and departments serving as a liaison between senior engineers and design teams.
* Ensure all technical outputs conform to project scopes, are safe, and meet appropriate quality standards.
* Actively participate in knowledge sharing networks, forums, and other initiatives.
* Support the development and expansion of capability in water and wastewater design including obtaining new clients and/or work from existing clients.
* Support the development of team members through technical advice and guidance.
* Promote professional services through client interaction.
* Contribute to proposal and bid development, preparing proposal materials as required.
* Complete all work in line with core values, safety systems, and project procedures.
* Minimise and control risk through proactive use of project management systems.
* Work towards professional qualifications and/or maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering – Civil or Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
* Chartership/ RPEQ or working towards is highly regarded.
* Relevant professional experience in consulting or engineering within the water industry.
* Minimum 4 years of experience in water and wastewater treatment plants.
* Strong technical experience in potable water supply, gravity and pumped sewerage systems, and recycled water networks.
* Experience in water and wastewater treatment plants for regional and urban water authorities.
* Expertise in dealing with a range of clients and stakeholders including local authorities, government bodies, and commercial companies.
