The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Senior Peer Coordinator - Lived Experience (Secure Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
* Lead and manage a lived experience team
* Articulate consumer/carer needs to service managers and clinical providers
* Maintain and grow partnerships with a range of stakeholders
* Develop and deliver recovery-oriented training and education
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
* Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be a person with lived experience of mental illness, service use and recovery (identifies as a consumer or carer or both)
* While not mandatory, a Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work, Certificate IV in Mental Health and similar qualifications or higher would be well regarded
* Driver Licence
* Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
* Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
* Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
* Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

* Base salary ranging from $108 735 - $118 307 per annu
