The Role
HDR is looking for a Commissioning Manager to join our Building Engineering Services (BES) team. This position will be based out of our Melbourne Office and will
lead commissioning teams
on projects across a range of markets, primarily the Mission Critical sector.
This role forms a critical part of our
national growth strategy
and will see you working closely with our Australian Commissioning Leader to establish and grow key partnerships with clients in this geography. Your time will be divided between project management, strengthening client relationships and driving day-to-day business operations and will give you the opportunity to build relationships with some of our most unique clients and deliver unrivalled building commissioning solutions.
On a day-to-day basis, the
Commissioning Manager
will:
* Drive the identification and development of new business opportunities in the commissioning market, including strategy for positioning, proposing, and presenting on business development campaigns
* Demonstrate the ability to understand our client's purchasing decisions, and leverage our skills, experience and staff to create a winning offering
* Engage partnering market sectors and regional leadership in the development and execution of commissioning initiatives and opportunities identified during strategic planning and annual strategy alignment meetings
* Maintain and improve our relationship with the clients, manage the scope and look for opportunities to provide additional services that would benefit the client
* Identify, monitor and support attainment of net fee booked plans by driving consistent communication across the organization, in coordination with the commissioning practice leaders
* Focus on developing the path to achieve business goals
* Assist and collaborate within the commissioning sector and with other sector and service leaders in defining opportunities and engagement strategies for clients
* Serve as a key client manager for selected clients
* Conduct contract negotiation and management
* Partner with key accounting leadership to monitor financial aspects of business operations
* Liaise with other regional commissioning leadership in respect of national and international account management, marketing and communications, internal communications and technical development
* Work closely with our safety team in developing guidance and safe work systems that relate to our commissioning effort, including development and refinement of company-wide safety protocols and management KPIs
About You
* Demonstrated experience in commissioning or facility engineering, ideally working within the Mission Critical (Data Centre) and/or Health sectors.
* Strong track record conducting equipment inspection, Factory Witness Tests, and Factory Acceptance Tests.
* You have strong networks within the Victorian building services market, enabling you to build and strengthen client partnerships and identify new opportunities.
* You communicate effectively, build trust quickly and are confident engaging directly with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
* You hold Australian Citizenship (Baseline or higher Australian Government Security Clearance, or eligibility to obtain) - required. To check your eligibility, please visit the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency website.

Required Qualifications
* Relevant tertiary qualifications (university or tafe)
* Green Star AP, LEED AP, CSA or LEED Associate – highly advantageous
