Our Discipline of Strategy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SIE) was formed in 2018 and serves as a key plank in the Business School’s “Innovative. Responsible. SIE engages in impactful teaching and high-quality research to develop actionable knowledge for a sustainable future. Driven by ambitious standards of excellence, we partner with academia, business, governments, and civil society organisations. We are seeking an outstanding Professor of Strategy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship to join our esteemed Business School. As a Professor of Strategy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, you will lead and contribute significantly to both teaching and research in the field and bring with you a strong track record in both teaching and research. Your key responsibilities will be to: Maintain international standing for academic excellence through original, innovative and distinguished contributions to scholarship and research. Maintain and strive to enhance the research profile and reputation of the university. Coordinate and engage in high-quality teaching and learning experiences which meet the university’s expectations and standards for education, including supervising higher degree research students to successful completions. Develop and lead innovation in curricula and programs to enhance the university’s standing as a national leader in education. Make significant contribution to governance and collegial life within the university, including undertaking significant administrative and/or committee positions. Provide thought leadership within the discipline, the community, professional, commercial or industrial sectors. Provide effective leadership, mentor academics, and engage in decision-making to promote high performance and improve student learning and research outcomes. Contribute to a positive workplace culture in which diversity of thought, contribution, collaboration, excellence and achieving outcomes are valued and enabled. Contribute and lead initiatives to furthering the university and faculty/school strategic agenda. Lead impactful collaborations and strategic initiatives to deliver outcomes in research, development, commercialisation, and policy improvement. Undertake other duties and contribute to projects appropriate within the classification level as required. About you (skills, capabilities and experience) Significant experience in people leadership and management within the higher education sector, including demonstrated excellence in supervising and/or mentoring others to success. Demonstrated success in leading an academic endeavour from curriculum design to producing leading research and providing a student enabling environment. International reputation as an authority in their discipline or area of expertise, with a supporting research profile including competitive research grants, publications and evidence of recognition within the broader research community. Distinguished record of scholarly teaching excellence as evidenced through successful student outcomes, demonstrated impact on student learning, recognition through awards/prizes and innovation. Wide network of established relationships with key academic, industry and professional institutions, partners and stakeholders that can be leveraged to enhance the standing of the discipline, School/Faculty and University. Term and remuneration The successful candidate will be offered a continuing position on a full-time basis. The appointment is subject to completion of a satisfactory probation period for new appointees. Similarly, your ongoing employment is conditional upon the satisfactory maintenance of all relevant clearances and background check requirements.
