Prepares, paints, and decorates interior and exterior surfaces to enhance appearance and protect structures. Duties include surface preparation, colour selection, mixing paints, applying finishes, and ensuring high-quality results. Works from specifications, maintains equipment, and upholds safety standards while delivering professional, detailed craftsmanship on every project.
Specific tasks and duties of the position will include;
* Erecting scaffolding.
* Working from boom/scissor lift.
* Hanging wallpaper.
* Restoration work.
* Epoxy floors.
* Rust prevention.
* Spray painting.
* Graffiti removal.
* General painting duties.
* Special finishes.
* Assist in preparing services for painting, including sanding, cleaning, and priming.
* Apply painting techniques, including: brushwork, rolling, and cutting in.
* Mix paints and match colours.
* Apply paints, stains, and other finishes.
* Perform minor repairs and patching on all surfaces.
* Clean-up and maintenance of painting equipment.
Applicants will be required to have;
* Painting trade licence.
* Driver's licence.
* White Card.
* Working with children check.
* Police check.
* Own vehicle for work.
* Complete set of tools.
* Minimum 2 years of painting experience.
* Availability for shift work (night/day).
* Availability for weekend work.
* Availability to work regionally or interstate.
* Must have a personal phone.
* Required proficiency in reading and writing in English.
* Ability to perform strenuous physical tasks under all conditions.
* Understanding of WH&S protocol.
