The Role
The Contract Support Officer is responsible for providing administrative, data management and compliance support across the full lifecycle of government contracts. The position plays a critical role in ensuring that contracts particularly those involving LNIC staff and controlled technologies or defence-related goods comply with applicable government procurement regulations, export control laws, and internal policy frameworks. The role involves close liaison with a range of stakeholders, suppliers, and external regulators to ensure contract records are accurate, auditable, and aligned with organisational and legal requirements.
About our Team
The Land Network Integration Centre (LNIC) mission is to advise Army on its digital network integration efforts to maximise interoperability across Land, Joint and Coalition interface boundaries and to meet critical information exchange requirements. The intent is to ensure that Army’s investments are integrated to maximise the operational functions of individual projects within the Army Operating System.
The LNIC Contract Support Office (CSO) will report directly to the Contract Manger (CM) within the Business Management Unit (BMU). The BMU provides support to LNIC Teams (Exec, Advice, Design, Validate and Engineering) for a broad variety of tasks including procurement, contracts, finance, human resources, travel and knowledge management. As the CMO, you will apply your specialist knowledge to provide procurement, contract management and financial support. You will work closely with procurement and financial related systems that enable LNIC to pursue strategies and meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities
* Support and update contract registers—including the preparation, execution, variation, and closeout of contracts.
* Track contract deliverables, milestones, expiry dates, and renewal timelines.
* Support compliance, liaise, and maintain accurate records associated with International Traffic in Arms Regulations, Export Administration Regulations, local Export Control legislation, permits, agreements, and reporting.
* Support procurement planning, tender documentation, evaluation processes, liaise, and assist in supplier engagement and correspondence.
* Support internal and external audits or reviews and generate reports and summaries on contract status, performance metrics, and compliance issues.
* Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
* Provide timely responses to queries and assist to resolve contract-related issues.
* Capture (i.e. scribe) interviews and stakeholder discussions, including supplier meetings, internal briefings, and regulatory consultations.
