**About Monash Health**
**The Medical Infusion Unit** is a new, busy day unit that provides treatments to patients with varying chronic medical conditions. The unit opperates Monday to Friday from 0700-2030 and Saturday from 0700-1530.
**About the Role and You**
The Ward Clerk is a key role within the Unit, providing customer focused service to patients and their families. Working in a busy, team based environment, the Ward Clerk provides efficient and effective clerical support to the clinical ward staff. The ward clerk contributes to optimum patient care and actively contributes to the functioning of the unit.
Your desire to help others, especially in a challenging situation, will be well met by this job. You will be the first contact for many of our patients when they attend our unit. Our patients attend for infusion to treat chronic diseases and empathy and patience is essential for this role. With your overall responsibilities involving enquiries ( in person and telephone), registering patient information, admissions, booking interpreters, booking transport, appointments, discharges and other clerical tasks including Medicare billing for our outpatient clinics. We will put to work your customer service skills, and ability to remain helpful in what can be a challenging environment. Your clerical and keyboard experience will also be a great head start.

Your ability to multitask together with first class communication skills are the attributes you will most need for this position.
The positions available are part time up to - 8 days per fortnight, morning shift 0700-1530 and afternoon 1030-1900 with potential to work only afternoons if desired. Our unit is open Saturday mornings but closed Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday.
