Duties and responsibilities
Provide strong leadership to the Systems Accounting team and advise the Director on the strategic direction of the financial system.
Prepare complex advice on financial systems accounting practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Advise stakeholders and the Executive on the impacts of business process changes on the financial system.
Anticipate and assess the impact of changes in Government financial policy on the financial system.
Manage or undertake troubleshooting tasks where accounting or financial system issues arise.
Additional information
Applicants must have a good working knowledge of SAP components, including the Financial Modules.
Skills and experience that are highly desirable
Project management skills and experience.
Analytical skill to understand business issues and consider solutions objectively.
Experience leading a team in a changing environment.
Experience implementing financial system changes and related business process change.
Experience managing competing stakeholder needs to reach an agreed solution.
Qualifications that are highly desirable
A degree in finance, accounting, public policy, public administration, law, economics, data science, information technology or other relevant fields.
Accounting qualifications (CA or CPA).

Eligibility
Applicants must be Australian citizens.
Successful candidates must obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance.
