Lead the financial strategy of one of Australia’s most iconic regions.
Noosa Council is seeking an experienced Financial Services Manager to lead the organisation’s financial management, financial strategy and financial governance.
This senior leadership role is responsible for budgeting, financial reporting, treasury, financial planning, investment management and financial sustainability, supporting strategic decision-making across Council.
Reporting to the Director Corporate Services, you will work closely with the Executive Leadership Team and Councillors, providing trusted financial advice that helps shape the long-term future of the Noosa community.

As Financial Services Manager, you will lead Council’s Financial Services Branch across three core areas:
Financial Accounting - statutory financial reporting, taxation, treasury and complianceManagement Accounting - budgeting, financial performance reporting and financial planningFinancial Systems - financial systems governance, reporting, analytics and system improvements
You will lead a team of finance professionals across accounting, budgeting and financial systems, ensuring strong financial governance, accurate financial reporting and robust financial planning across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Council’s financial strategy, budgeting and long-term financial planningOversee financial reporting, treasury management and investment oversightProvide strategic financial advice to the Executive Leadership Team and CouncillorManage Council’s annual budget process and long-term financial planEnsure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and statutory financial reportingLead preparation of annual financial statements and external audit coordinationStrengthen organisational financial capability and financial literacy across departmentsDrive continuous improvement in financial systems, reporting and analyticsSupport capital investment decisions through financial modelling and cost-benefit analysis
About YouYou are a strategic finance leader with strong technical expertise in financial management, financial governance and financial strategy.
You bring:Extensive experience in financial leadership, budgeting and financial reportingStrong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and financial governance frameworksExperience providing strategic financial advice to executives and senior stakeholdersDemonstrated success leading high-performing finance teamsStrong stakeholder engagement and communication skillsAbility to translate complex financial information into strategic insights
Essential QualificationsTertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related disciplineCA or CPA qualified with current membershipCurrent Class C Driver’s Licence
Experience within local government, government or a complex organisation will be highly regarded.
