What's the role?
The Senior Manager - SME & Small Business plays a critical role in strengthening the control environment across the SME and Small Business portfolio. This role provides specialist risk, compliance and business continuity expertise, ensuring effective monitoring frameworks, robust controls, and regulatory compliance. You will partner closely with senior leaders to identify, assess and manage non‐financial risks, support governance forums, and embed sound risk practices across people, processes and systems.

The role also leads assurance activities, oversees issue and incident management, and drives continuous improvement through root cause analysis and remediation. With a strong focus on stakeholder engagement, you will provide trusted advice on risk appetite, operational resilience, and control effectiveness, while supporting the business to operate safely, efficiently and in line with regulatory and internal standards.
What do I need?
* Extensive experience in risk management, business controls, compliance or business continuity, ideally within SME or Small Business environments in financial services.
* Proven ability to identify, assess and manage non‐financial risks, including control design, issue management, incident remediation and root cause analysis.
* Strong background partnering with senior leaders and governance forums, providing trusted advice on risk appetite, operational resilience and regulatory obligations.
* Demonstrated experience delivering assurance activities, monitoring control effectiveness, and driving continuous improvement across people, processes and systems.
* A track record of influencing and engaging stakeholders across risk, compliance, audit and business teams.
