The company operates a major seed manufacturing and distribution site in Central West New South Wales, supplying seed to Australian and international markets. The Narromine site is a core part of the operation, bringing together receival, conditioning, laboratory testing, and warehousing within a highly seasonal production environment.
The Opportunity
The Quality Control Manager is a senior, site-based leadership role responsible for quality control operations within a high-throughput seed manufacturing environment.
This role sits at the intersection of quality, manufacturing, and people leadership. It requires someone who can set clear standards, bring structure to systems and processes, and lead confidently in a regional, operational setting.
Working closely with site operations and ANZ quality leadership, the role contributes directly to product disposition decisions and broader operational outcomes. The focus is on consistency, discipline, and improvement that holds up under seasonal pressure.
About You
This role suits a leader with manufacturing or processing experience who is comfortable balancing quality, people, and operational demands.
A practical improvement mindset is essential, along with confidence setting standards and managing complex team dynamics. Sound judgement is required where quality decisions influence production flow and customer outcomes.
A structured, disciplined approach underpins success, combined with the ability to lift standards while keeping operations moving.
Key responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to:
* Lead quality control operations, setting clear standards and expectations
* Manage and develop a diverse QC team with mixed experience levels
* Partner closely with site operations to align quality and manufacturing priorities
* Strengthen process discipline, documentation, and consistency
* Drive continuous improvement across QC and manufacturing interfaces
* Contribute to product release and disposition decisions
* Lead improvement projects across systems, workflows, and laboratory capability
Preferred Background
* Agricultural or agronomy background highly regarded
* Experience in seed production, grain handling, or related industries viewed favourably
* Exposure to lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or structured improvement systems
* Candidates from engineering or broader manufacturing backgrounds are encouraged to apply where leadership and improvement capability is strong.
