The Category Manager is accountable for coordinating and overseeing the implementation of category sourcing strategies and plans. Putting in place transparent benefits realisation reporting and ensuring that robust contractual arrangements are executed that ensure benefits are fully realised, in accordance with broader QCS governance requirements and the Queensland Government Procurement Policy. The Category Manager will be capable of providing leadership across all areas within Strategic Sourcing Command and may be required to move between categories as required as part of Strategic Procurements workplace planning strategies.
**In this role you will**:
Work with the Manager Procurement Services and Delivery in the Financial Services and Strategic Sourcing Command, in delivering on the procurement outcomes for Queensland Corrective Services.Conduct strategic sourcing and procurement activities for major contracts and standing offer arrangements on behalf of the QCS categories; General Goods and Services, Information Communication and Technology and Social Services and may be require to move between categories as required as part of the Strategic Sourcing's workplace planning strategies.Undertake strategic, complex and/or sensitive procurements activities on behalf of the department and clients.Put in place transparent benefits realisation plans and reporting as required by the Queensland Government Procurement Policy.Provide professional, quality procurement advice, guidance to QCS clients and stakeholders.Undertake detailed research and market analysis to assist in the review of requirements and development of procurement category management plans and strategies for the department's supply arrangements.Perform and ensure appropriate category management and reporting is delivered.Effectively manage the communication and relationships with internal and external suppliers and clients.Maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of contemporary category management in the fields of General Goods and Services, Information Communication and Social Services.Develop and maintain effective working relationships with industry networks and associations in the category fields.Contribute to the development of functional procedures that promote consistency and best practice within Procurement Services and Delivery by monitoring and reviewing work practices and making recommendations leading to continuous improvement.Provide mentoring and guidance to other procurement staff in the knowledge of procurement category management and strategies to achieve outcomes for QCS.This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Australia License.
