Your Opportunity:
* To deliver high level clinical occupational therapy acute services to all inpatients within the Hervey Bay Hospital, including weekends, focussing on rapid discharge to aid patient flow whilst ensuring patient safety.
* To deliver professional leadership in an acute setting including clinical practice supervision of less experienced therapists and clinical support staff.
* To provide leadership and contribute to service development, education, and research in the department.
What we're looking for:
* Demonstrated high level of knowledge, skill, and expertise within occupational therapy across all inpatient settings to expediate discharge. Generalist skills required to manage this caseload.
* Demonstrated ability to provide clinical services of a complex nature, where established principles, procedures and methods require some adaptation or modification.
* Demonstrated high level communication skills including the ability to provide clinical service advice & identify service improvement opportunities to the profession Director and other relevant stakeholders.
* Demonstrated ability to initiate, plan and evaluate local service improvement initiatives.
* Demonstrated ability to provide clinical supervision to other team members as well as clinical education to undergraduate & graduate occupational therapists.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Mandatory possession of a qualification from a registered tertiary institution as an Occupational Therapist and Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency with a current annual practicing certificate is essential.
* Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and if applicable registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
* This position requires the applicant to work a roster pattern of Friday to Monday weekly encompassing public holidays that fall within this timeframe. This role is to deliver support to inpatients and assist with hospital discharge or transfer of care.

You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $110,152 p.a., comprising salary rates $64.64 - $69.56 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP4) (Permanent Part Time, 53.2 hours p.f.)
