Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Geological Technician to join our open pit mining team at Murrawombie site.
About the Role
* The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, monitoring ore extraction, and collecting data safely and efficiently.
* The role involves classifying ore into high-grade and low-grade categories, assisting with marking ore and waste blocks for extraction, and supporting the installation of Blast Movement Indicators (BVI) equipment.
* Key responsibilities also include performing Grade Control Sampling from blast hole rigs, using specialized tools and software to analyze and document geological data, and monitoring and reporting ore quality.
* This position requires strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication and organizational skills.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Prior experience in open pit mining is highly desirable but not mandatory.
* A strong knowledge of geological ore spotting and sampling methods is essential.
* Candidates should possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Proficiency in MS Office Suite is required, and a valid NSW Driver's License is necessary.
