The Cook plays a vital role in ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation of our contemporary menu. They maintain food safety, consistency in taste, and an efficient kitchen operation. Cooks contribute to our customers' satisfaction using their passion for food and pride in their work.
What key responsibilities does this role have?
* Preparing ingredients by cutting, chopping, slicing, and mixing.
* Following recipes and cooking instructions accurately.
* Seasoning and garnishing dishes for optimal presentation.
* Preparing a variety of dishes, including soups, salads, entrées, and desserts.
* Utilising various cooking methods such as grilling, frying, sautéing, baking, and boiling.
* Ensuring food is cooked to the proper temperature and doneness.
* Monitoring food quality, taste, and presentation throughout the cooking process.
* Keeping a clean and organised workspace.
* Cleaning dishes and kitchen equipment.
* Properly storing ingredients and handling food safely.
* Following food hygiene and safety regulations.
Ideal background…
* Passionate about food! Experience in food preparation and cooking, preferably in a professional kitchen.
* Commercial cookery certificate is an advantage but not required
* Understanding of the 7 day roster of commercial kitchens
* Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
* Ability to follow recipes and instructions with precision.
* Strong multitasking, time management skills and enjoys working in a fast-paced team environment.
