As a Lecturer in Visual Arts at VCA Art you'll have the opportunity to shape the future of art education in Australia. You'll develop and deliver high-quality curricula in drawing and printmaking, mentor aspiring artists and contribute to a vibrant artistic community. Your expertise and passion for teaching will directly impact the next generation of professional artists while you engage in research-informed teaching and collaborate with industry professionals.
Responsibilities
Deliver innovative curricula: Create and maintain high-quality course materials focusing on drawing and printmaking while incorporating innovative teaching methodologies.
Inspire and mentor students: Deliver engaging workshops, lectures and tutorials at undergraduate levels, providing guidance and fostering student achievement.
Contribute to research and engagement: Participate in artistic research programs and engage with the professional arts sector to inform teaching practices.
Support faculty initiatives: Actively contribute to VCA Art's key events, widening participation initiatives and diversity and inclusion action plans.
Qualifications
You are an active and well-respected artist with expertise in teaching, particularly in drawing and printmaking, and possess the ability to work collaboratively to shape and enhance VCA Art's undergraduate coursework programs.
Hold a Master's degree and/or have an equivalent active professional practice in contemporary art.
Have teaching experience and coordination skills in an art school context, especially in drawing, printmaking and contemporary art.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence and innovation in curriculum design.
Possess scholarship and research of locally recognised standing in your field.
Show capacity for leadership in fostering teaching excellence and representing the discipline externally.
