This pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loadingReporting to the Chief Risk Officer, this is a specialist role responsible for leading the development and implementation of the organisation's Insurance Program.
This involves overseeing insurance broking activities, facilitating the Insurance Claims Management process, and driving commercial understanding of insurance throughout the organisation.
The role will assist in providing business expertise and advice on managing the organisation-wide strategic approach to insurance, including identifying insurable risks to enable decision making in relation to insurance coverage.Preparing briefings where required, managing the annual insurance renewal program, including the completion of the annual insurance questionnaires and supporting information and insurance placement.
You will also oversee the insurance budget and take accountability for cost savings to the program.
This includes critically evaluating and identifying opportunities for improvement in the insurance program and managing all insurance claims with the assistance of the outsource claims manager.As a specialist you will advise on delivering meaningful risk assessments to assist the Risk Owner/Risk Champions develop a compelling risk mitigation strategy to review the agency's insurance policy schedules and ensure there is adequate level of coverage to meet organisational needs and identify opportunities to reduce premium levels or improve the level/effectiveness of insurance coverage.
Suitable candidates will have Tertiary degree in Finance, Commerce, or Accounting with ability to understand and incorporate the balance between commercial and customer outcomes.
You will have experience in managing customer groups or stakeholders and have the ability to think strategically to identify and implement ongoing improvement initiatives.
Strong technical expertise on insurance, insurance broking and claims management is essential.
Having strong commercial acumen you will also have the ability to understand and incorporate ambiguity or complex issues to modify styles and techniques to accommodate tasks, situations and individuals You will also be adept at managing ambiguity, have resilience and strong strategic and analytical skills.
