Lead Statutory Reporting Professional
We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our statutory reporting efforts, ensuring the integrity of our disclosures and compliance with accounting standards.
This is a high-impact role that involves regular interaction with senior management and key stakeholders at all levels. You will be responsible for shaping and delivering our statutory reporting agenda, including the preparation of annual reports and associated board-level disclosures and analytics.
About This Role
* Job Description: To lead Group statutory reporting, deliver financial insight, drive technical excellence, oversee Group Head Office (HO) financial control, champion process improvement, influence and collaborate across the business, develop and lead a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Statutory Reporting Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for statutory reporting, ensuring alignment with evolving accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
* Financial Insight: Analyse and interpret statutory results to provide actionable insights for senior stakeholders, supporting strategic decision-making and external engagement.
* Technical Excellence: Provide guidance on complex accounting and disclosure matters, monitoring changes in financial reporting standards and leading their interpretation and implementation.
* Financial Control: Oversee internal reporting, foreign currency management, and remuneration reporting for Group Head Office entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
* Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance quality, efficiency, and governance of statutory reporting and financial control processes, systems, and controls.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across finance, tax, investor relations, treasury, legal, and divisional teams, influencing decision-making and driving alignment with broader business priorities.
* Team Leadership: Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and professional excellence in financial reporting, leading and developing a technically strong team.
What You Bring
* CA/CPA qualification or equivalent, with deep technical expertise in financial accounting and reporting.
* Extensive experience in financial reporting, ideally within general insurance or a complex corporate environment, with demonstrated ownership of high-profile deliverables such as annual reports and board-level reporting.
* Proven ability to interpret and apply accounting standards in a commercial context, providing clear and actionable advice to senior stakeholders on complex financial reporting matters.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and exercise sound judgment under pressure.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across a broad range of functions.
* Demonstrated leadership capability, including experience managing high-performing teams and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
