ABOUT THE ROLE
Are you someone who genuinely cares about helping customers and takes pride in providing great service? We're looking for a friendly, reliable Hardware Counter Sales team member to join our Scott St branch. This role is front and centre of our business supporting our trade and retail customers with the right products, advice and service every day. Based on the hardware counter, you'll be the first point of contact for many of our customers. You'll listen, ask the right questions, and make it easy for customers to get what they need whether they're builders, tradies or DIYers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Providing warm, professional and helpful service to all customers
* Serving customers at the counter and over the phone
* Working closely with other departments to deliver a seamless experience
* Handling stock in a manner to minimise damage and wastage
* Maintaining store in a clean and safe manner and adhering to workplace health and safety guidelines
* Undertaking regular product training with market leading brands
* Ensuring orders are prepared on time and in full to meet customer requirements
* Providing assistance where required with other departments
* Monitoring stock levels to ensure supply and demand needs are met
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
* Genuine care for customers and a positive, can‐do attitude
* Enjoys working with people and building strong relationships
* Communicates clearly and professionally
* Reliable, punctual and a team player
* Hardware, trade or retail experience (preferred but not essential)
* Willing to learn products, systems and processes
* Physically fit with the ability to safely lift loads and manually handle goods
* Exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy
* High awareness of site safety and duty of care for your team, staff and site visitors
* Forklift licence (LF) advantage
