The Senior Advisor, Advisory Field Services (AFS) delivers state-wide advisory programs to a portfolio of employers using a case management model. This is primarily done through delivering the Injury Prevention and Management (IPaM) program. IPaM programs are high performing, innovative and influential, with a proven history of helping Queensland businesses to better manage their work health and safety risks and injury management responsibilities.
The primary work of an AFS Advisor is to bring genuine and lasting change within Queensland workplaces through education and advice. Advisors are adaptable, autonomous, self-directed and relationship driven. Advisors form a highly motivated and passionate team of client focused safety specialists who take pride in assisting Queensland businesses to build capability. All Advisors are field based and fully mobile, with employer worksite activities a key component of IPaM Program delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
• Delivering customer-driven, innovative and effective health and safety advisoryservices which assist priority businesses to achieve genuine and lasting change for both health and safety and injury management outcomes.
• Providing operational support to the delivery of high-level projects and campaigns aimed at improving WHS outcomes.
• Supporting the development of communication strategies and events to promote WHS and injury management.
• Contributing to the development of legislation and standards for enhancing systematic management of WHS within priority industries and hazard areas.
• Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to create collaborations and partnership opportunities.
• Contributing to evaluation frameworks to report on strategy, programs and initiatives.
• Providing advice to Strategy and Advisory Services and AFS management on targeted industries' WHS performance and issues.
• Modelling professional and ethical behaviour and acting in accordance with the Queensland Public Service legislative framework and Code of Conduct.
The right person for the role will possess the following:
1. Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, implement and evaluate evidence-based programs and campaigns to achieve strategic and operational objectives.
2. Demonstrated track record of case management experience, showing an ability to function autonomously, work remotely, and meet high levels of accountability.
3. Demonstrated skills and experience in auditing and the systematic management of health, safety and injury management to analyse important information and develop improvement strategies to drive a culture of safety.
4. Demonstrated proven communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work individually or as part of a team. You will be asked for examples of successful liaison and negotiation with a wide variety of stakeholders from both the public and private sectors and demonstrate how your sound and impartial advice has influenced positive behaviour change.
5. Demonstrated high-level knowledge of relevant legislation, and broader contemporary and emerging issues, policies and trends affecting health, safety and rehabilitation and return-to-work.
