About the Opportunity
This Inventory role offers a unique blend of leadership and hands-on operational responsibility. While you will have line management responsibilities, the position is best suited to a procurement or operations specialist who enjoys being actively involved in day-to-day delivery. You will oversee a small team while remaining closely involved in core purchasing activities, ensuring continuity of supply, managing workflows, and maintaining operational efficiency. This role is ideal for someone stepping up into leadership or an experienced professional seeking a more practical, less hierarchical management position.
Duties
* Provide day-to-day guidance and support to team members, ensuring tasks are effectively coordinated and completed.
* Take an active role in purchasing activities, including sourcing, ordering, and supplier coordination.
* Ensure stock levels are appropriately managed to meet operational demands and avoid disruptions.
* Oversee workflow across the function, adjusting priorities as required to meet business needs.
* Address supply challenges proactively, identifying solutions to minimise impact on operations.
* Contribute to refining processes and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and cost control.
* Work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless coordination across departments.
* Maintain effective working relationships with suppliers to support reliable service delivery.
Skills and Experience
* Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain within healthcare, pharmacy, or pharmaceutical environments.
* Previous line management or team leadership experience (formal or informal).
* Hands-on, operational mindset with willingness to be involved in day-to-day activities.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
* Experience working in hospital, pharmacy, or pharmaceutical industry settings.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Continuous improvement mindset with a practical, solutions-focused approach.
