UTS Speech Pathology reflects the latest research and is unique in combining a strong emphasis on technology, an interprofessional approach, collaborating with the School's six other disciplines, and is home to a world-renowned research centre - the Australian Stuttering Research Centre.
We are seeking a Head of Discipline - Speech Pathology to provide academic leadership and management of the discipline within the Graduate School of Health.
The role is responsible for the quality, relevance and strategic direction of teaching, research and external engagement, and contributes to the school's strategic, financial and people management.
Working closely with others within UTS and the School, the Head of Discipline leads curriculum development and the delivery, evaluation and continuous improvement of discipline subjects and courses to ensure a high-quality student experience. The role also leads the development of the discipline's research profile through ethical research leadership, research training and the cultivation of a strong research culture.
This appointment is for a three-year term, held concurrently with a continuing academic role, with a 50% workload allocation, and plays a key role in advancing excellence in Speech Pathology education and research locally, nationally and globally.
About You
You will bring strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective and collaborative relationships with colleagues, students and industry partners. With experience in delivering high-quality teaching and learning, you will demonstrate leadership in developing teams and fostering productive collaborations. Key selection criteria for this role include:
* Must hold a current Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor or Professor (Level C, D or E) appointment and a PhD in Speech Pathology.
* An interest in Augmentative and Alternative Communication and/or Paediatric clinical practice (desirable).
* Demonstrated capability in strategic and financial planning, including management of operational resources.
* Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal, communication and team-building skills.
* Experience in higher education curriculum development, teaching, quality assurance and accreditation.
* Experience in research leadership, research management and the development of research partnerships.
Base Salary Range: $152,245 - $174,841 (Level C) / $183,507 - $201,165 (Level D) / $228,179 (Level E) plus 17% superannuation.
The positions are full‐time and will be made on a fixed‐term basis for 3 years and is held concurrently with a continuing academic appointment.
