Team Member I Reserves & Asset MaintenanceOur Wonderful Open Spaces Can Use an Extra Pair of HandsNine Day Fortnight | Well-Managed Team | Perm Role77,940.00 Base plus Super and Great BenefitsThe City of Marion is one of the largest councils in South Australia and has over 150 enviable parks and reserves that are enjoyed by a wide range of people in our community.We are now looking to hire a permanent Team Member that will work in a dedicated roster with other capable staff performing maintenance and open space works that make our parks and reserves some of the best in the state.Your primary objective in this position will be to maintain Marion Council's open space assets with the key focus on delivering efficient and effective services to the community.
This includes undertaking the following activities :Maintaining the reserves to Council's standards, including weed control, site clean ups, planting, mulching and locating depth services as required.Maintaining and monitoring the irrigation systems on reserves, to Council's standards, including irrigation repairs, installations and programming ensuring the efficiency of the irrigation systems at all times.Undertaking duties relevant to open space assets at Council reserves which may include asset inspection and repairs.Operating minor plant and equipment to maintain Council's reserves and surrounding spaces.Providing input to the Open Spaces metrics programs and other operational programs.Operating the Water Tanker Truck as required.What do you need to be considered for this role?To be considered for this role you will have demonstrated experience in Horticultural plant applications and maintenance and possess exceptional communication skills and sound organisational and time management abilities.
You will be willing to embrace new technologies in relation to streamlining Council programming and ensuring efficiencies.Other criteria for this position include the following :MR driver's licence (essential).Appropriate licences to operate plant and equipment used in maintenance (essential).Certificate III in Horticulture or willingness to undertake (desirable).Ability to maintain the reserves to Council's standards, including mowing, edging, weed control and site clean ups etc.Experience operating minor plant and equipment to maintain Council's reserves and surrounding spaces.Knowledge of maintaining irrigation systems on reserves, including irrigation repairs, installations and programming.Advanced knowledge of programmed activities and work practices relevant to the horticulture and revegetation establishment maintenance.This position has a 9-day fortnight work pattern with 6 : 30-3 : 24 hours per shift.
