Locomotive Driver Role Overview
The role involves operating locomotives to ensure trains are ready for departure while maintaining a high level of safety awareness.
* Operate mainline, shunting, and marshalling locomotives with precision.
* Examine trains to certify readiness for departure.
* Maintain on-time running performance by preparing brake testing on locomotives.
* Prioritize customer service to meet business objectives.
Key qualifications include availability for 24/7 shift rosters, experience with the WA Safeworking System, extensive freight and/or heavy haulage locomotive driving experience, and a Certificate IV in Rail Operations.
