About The Role
The Program Support Team Lead is responsible for leading and supporting a team of Support Workers who provide person-centred care to adults engaged in the Townsville Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Residential Rehabilitation Program and the Withdrawal Management Unit. This role includes the recruitment, training, supervision, performance management, and rostering of Support Workers, while ensuring that daily operations and participant activities are safe, structured, and aligned with client wellbeing.
How You Will Make An Impact
As the Program Support Team Lead, you will lead the day-to-day service delivery and operations by:
* Coordinating and maintaining effective rosters to ensure all shifts are appropriately staffed.
* Ensuring service delivery aligns with The Salvation Army's standards, policies, and accreditation requirements.
* Implementing and monitoring service delivery tools and systems, including SAMIS, SolvSafety, and Kronos.
* Supporting client-centred practices such as supervised medication, meaningful daily activities, and smooth admissions and discharges.
* Promoting continuous quality improvement, clinical governance, and risk management across service operations.
* Providing direct line management, supervision, and performance support for Support Workers.
* Supporting team members with professional development, including personal goal setting.
* Encouraging team cohesion and fostering strong internal relationships.
* Reviewing service delivery data and feedback to support evaluation and continuous improvement.
* Assisting with implementation, monitoring, and refinement of practice models and service changes at the frontline level.
What You Will Bring
* A degree in Social Work, Welfare, Community Development or a related discipline OR significant sector experience and knowledge developed through prior roles, training, and professional development.
* Relevant experience working in the community services, health, or AOD sectors.
* Demonstrated experience in staff supervision and leadership.
* A current and valid Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
* Current First Aid and CPR certification.
* A valid driver's licence.
