About the role
Ox Finishes is seeking a talented and experienced Sheet Metal Worker/Fabricator to join our growing team in Braeside, VIC. This full-time role is an opportunity to contribute your skills and expertise to the production and fabrication of high-quality sheet metal products. As a key member of our trades and services team, you will play an integral role in supporting the company's objectives and delivering exceptional results for our clients.
Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents.
What you'll be doing
1. Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to fabricate, assemble and install a wide range of sheet metal components and products
2. Operate various metalworking machinery and equipment such as brakes, shears, rollers and welding machines to cut, bend, form and join metal
3. Perform welding and other joining techniques to assemble metal parts and structures
4. Liaise with the production team to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects
5. Maintain a protected and organised work environment, adhering to all relevant safety standards and procedures
6. Assist with the upkeep and maintenance of workshop tools and equipment
What we're looking for
1. A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Sheet Metal Worker/Fabricator, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
2. Proficient in operating a range of metalworking machinery and equipment, including welding, cutting, bending and forming tools
3. Strong technical skills and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
4. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
5. A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
6. A commitment to workplace health and safety
7. Currently completing or have completed a Sheet Metal Trade qualification
