Government Agency looking for a Category Manager for a 6 month assignment based in the Western Suburbs

This well-known Government Agency requires a Category Manager to join their team at a great rate of pay. This governmental institution has the mission of developing communities while preserving the environment, supporting industries and contributing to a strong economy. This job is located in Sydney's Western Suburbs.
**Your new role**
In your new position you will:
- Manage the procurement of assigned categories to identify, develop and implement sourcing and category strategies.
- Manage strategic sourcing activities
- Understand and analyse current market trends
- Liaise directly with internal and external stakeholders to achieve the business outcomes.
- Lead pricing reviews and contract negotiation
- Responsible for the management of assigned supplier performance against standard requirements.
**What you'll need to succeed**
In order to be considered for this role you will need to have industry experience with demonstrated sourcing experience. You will have experience working in developing and implementing category management plans. You will have experience in supplier negotiations, contract management and development and reporting.
You will have strong communication skills as you will be liaising with senior stakeholders both internally and externally and extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
**What you'll get in return**
In return you will get an immediately available 6 month temporary role. You will be working 40 hours a week and based in the Western Suburbs. Hybrid working is also available for this position.
