Community Wellbeing Officers - Emergency Recovery (x3)
Full time - Fixed term
We are seeking three individuals with experience working in the area of wellbeing and mental health, and where possible, an understanding of community led recovery and resilience building to support its resourcing and response to the State Government led recovery to the Murray River flood emergency.
The positions are General Officer Level 5.1 plus superannuation, Full time (1 FTE), fixed term for 3 months (with possibility of extension). Part time may be considered by negotiation with a preferred applicant.
Six Council’s in the Murraylands and Riverland have partnered with Wellbeing SA to fill three full time Community Wellbeing Officer positions to assist the councils with resourcing in dealing with the current Murray River Emergency and to assist the councils to participate in the State Government led recovery.
You will be proactive and experienced to work closely with the 6 councils and their communities to increase local community resilience and emergency preparedness and recovery capacity. Applicants will have extensive experience working with communities to achieve positive outcomes using a community development approach. Experience working in the area of wellbeing and mental health as well as an understanding of community led recovery and resilience building will be an advantage.
Each role will be place based, with a preference to have 2 officers based in the Riverland (between Renmark, Berri, Loxton or Waikerie) and 1 officer based within Mid Murray (in Mannum or Morgan). The Rural City of Murray Bridge is will act as the host employer for the roles.
This is a prescribed position. A current Working with Children Check and Working with Vulnerable People Check are requirements of the position.
