The Opportunity
Downer's Energy & Utilities business is seeking an experienced Delivery Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of projects within the Water line of business, specifically supporting our National Projects team (Downer Pipe Tech).
In this role, you will have full accountability for the safe, commercial, and efficient management of multiple contracts from pre contract involvement through to delivery and close out. As the primary point of contact for commercial, contractual and project performance matters, you will shape successful outcomes through strong leadership, robust stakeholder engagement and adherence to The Downer Standard and Delivery Manager Methodology
This is a significant leadership position that plays a key role in building client relationships, enabling high-performing project teams, and ensuring our delivery excellence across pipeline construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance projects.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking a highly capable leader with proven experience in large-scale project and contract management, particularly within water, construction or resources industries. Key skills and attributes include:
Experience & Technical Capability
• Minimum 10 years' experience in project and/or contract management, with strong delivery experience across construction or water infrastructure.
• Demonstrated capability in leading project managers, engineers, and multi disciplinary teams toward high performance.
• Strong commercial acumen with proven ability to interpret tender scopes, develop pricing, and manage commercial and contractual risk.
• Experience in pipeline construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance, with sound knowledge of relevant technologies and methodologies.
• Understanding of Australian construction markets and contract forms, including negotiation of contract terms.
• Experience working collaboratively in client focused, relationship driven environments.

Qualifications
• Tertiary qualification in engineering or a related discipline.
• Additional qualifications in business, finance or commerce highly regarded.
