About the Role
We are seeking applications for an Associate Business Analyst. In this role, you will develop and undertake analysis and review of the financial performance reporting framework and provide advice to Management. Through this, you will provide financial analysis and ongoing monitoring of operational performance.
In this role you will:
1. Assist with the development of key performance indicators and reporting, including trend analysis and forecasting in relation to the Agency's financial performance, capital expenditure projects, special projects and other major departmental initiatives.
2. Develop, implement and deliver regular scheduled and ad hoc financial reporting including actual versus budget performance and analysis of significant variances and discuss appropriate corrective actions.
3. Undertake analysis and reporting on high-risk projects and other business initiatives.
4. Assist managers with analysing and navigating the finance system to track the progress and outcomes of projects while exploring ongoing development and review of systems and critical reporting requirements.
5. Recognise and identify opportunities for process and quality improvement and ensure decisions comply with legislative and risk management guidelines.
6. Ensure that all systems developed and implemented conform to the appropriate departmental standards and are aligned with departmental strategies.
About You
To be successful in this role, we are looking for:
* Trainee Accountant with relevant accounting experience with emphasis on business analysis and project management.
* Demonstrated experience in business administration including experience in the development, implementation and review of business processes and systems.
* Demonstrated experience in managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines.
* High standard of written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to provide a consultancy approach and a commitment to quality service.
* Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to investigate financial data.
* Ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of, applicable financial policies.
