The key duties of the position include The Role The Web Project Support Officer will work closely with the project leads and engage with key stakeholders to assist in delivering the Defence Intranet Renewal Project throughout its key milestones. This role will require a hands-on approach to managing content migration, assisting with internal communications, and ensuring the smooth implementation of changes within DSTG. The Web Project Support Officer will draw on their experience in working with digital projects, as well as their excellent collaborative and stakeholder management skills to: Assist in the migration of intranet content from the current DSTG SharePoint site to the new platform. This includes organising, categorising, and ensuring content is current and transitioned across in consultation with the relevant content/page owners and in alignment with project timelines. Help produce internal communication materials (e.g., emails, newsletters, intranet announcements) to alert staff about upcoming changes, system updates, and migration milestones. Provide administrative support to the project team, including scheduling meetings, coordinating tasks. Support the collection of user feedback on the new intranet platform, helping to identify any issues or improvements. About our Team The Web Project Support Officer role sits within the Defence Science Communications (DSC) branch within Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG). As a multidisciplinary team of trusted communication experts, DSC partners with internal and external stakeholders to produce diverse, dynamic and engaging communications that enables collaboration, shapes attitudes, builds relationships and promotes trust in Defence. The digital team are the custodians of DSTG's internal and external digital channels, including its public-facing website and Intranet presence, which directly contribute the successful delivery of the overall organisational and DSTG-specific strategies. Our Ideal Candidate The Web Project Support Officer will use a hands-on approach to managing content migration, assisting with internal communications, and ensuring the smooth implementation of changes within the group. Additionally, the Web Project Support Officer will have a good level of experience in web content management, particularly with Intranets, and an understanding and appreciation of web standards. The successful candidate will also have experience in working within multi-disciplinary teams and must work collaboratively and creatively to contribute to the timely delivery of key milestones within the project.
