We're proud of our 'Zero Harm' initiative and provide extensive on-the-job training to ensure you get home safely at the end of every day.Qube is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and we encourage women and Indigenous peoples of all ages to apply.ABOUT THE ROLEThe primary purpose of the Yard Operator is to assist with the loading of vehicles, maintain stock control and support the overall facility work scopesSPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIESEnsuring compliance of all yard proceduresCoordination of trucks, cranes and other vehicles or equipment through the facilityLoading and unloading of offshore containers, freight and specialist equipmentLoading and unloading of materials and equipment from vehicles and restraining in accordance to the load restraint guideCompliance with chain of responsibility requirementsCorrect operation and use of yard / warehouse equipment including hand trolleys pallet jacks, scales, air compressors, high pressure water cleaners, loading ramps, fuel pumps, etcStuffing and de-stuffing of offshore containersHousekeeping of yard areaEnsure stock control of all received and dispatched containersEnsure all stock is correctly stored in vessel order and to meet customer needsEnsure efficient operation of site's plant and equipmentProvide support in operations area as requiredComplying with all SHS policies and proceduresSorting and organisation of Customer goodsAccurate and timely completion and processing of all transport and logistics paperwork (con notes, manifests, etc.
)Basic inspection of customer goods and equipment for signs of wear or damageClean vehicles, equipment and customer goods using high pressure water cleaners and air compressors as requiredPerform daily pre-start checks and inspections on all plant and equipment prior to useReport all damages, faulty equipment, incidents or accidents in a timely mannerCorrect and safe operation of all vehiclesQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCEMinimum 2 years in similar roleExperience in handling tubular equipment with 16t forkliftAbility to work autonomously using proactive approach to task resolutionAbility to be flexible and adaptable to work in a demanding environmentUnderstanding of current Load Restraint standards and requirementsBasic understanding of warehousing and inventory principles and practicesAdequate numeracy and literacyUnderstanding of requirements for handling and consigning dangerous goodsAbility to work without direct supervisionAbility to receive both written and verbal instructions and complete requested tasks accordinglyAbility to identify problems or hazards and make alternative suggestionsManual driver's licence requiredKnowledge and understanding of applicable Commonwealth/State Safety and Environmental legislation and standards, Main Road Heavy vehicle legislation and permitting standardsStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of peopleAbility to work well within a small team environmentHigh Risk elevated work platform ticketDangerous Goods certification by road (ADG)Dangerous Goods certification by Sea (IMDG)Knowledge of inventory systems such us SAP or Inventory MM systemsWhy QUBE?At Qube, we recognise that our people are our most important asset and are the engine that drives our organisation, playing a vital role in ensuring our business achieve our objectives and deliver on our commitments.
