You can flex your Bicep skills and have proven hands-on experience deploying, scaling, monitoring, cost-tracking, securing, and maintaining resources across Azure regions via DevOps tooling and Infrastructure as Code principles. You have been a key contributor within a successful IT Cloud Infrastructure team, are keen on honing your cloud skills and keeping them modern, while working closely with the team to deliver on key outcomes in line with an IT Strategy. You’re a team-player, able to work in cross-functional scenarios yet also thrive autonomously with a focus on getting it done. You’re sociable, friendly, and confident in your abilities, which allows you to remain calm when required. You have a can-do attitude and excel in finding simple solutions to seemingly complex issues. You’re always able and happy to help. You’ll hit the ground running with your prior experience of Atlassian Jira Service Management, Confluence, a solid understanding of ITIL fundamentals, and your ability to drive continuous improvement, manage risk, liaise with vendors, and produce quality documentation. What will you do? The purpose of the IT Cloud Engineer role is to support and improve the operational excellence of UNSW College's IT solutions. The role is crucial in aligning cloud operations with the overall IT Strategy and business goals, fostering innovation, and delivering a seamless user experience. This role reports to the IT Cloud Operations Lead and is part of the broader IT Infrastructure team. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: • Contribute to team discussions and provide input on infrastructure decisions. • Collaborate with senior engineers and IT leadership to support IT strategies. • Perform ongoing provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of cloud resources. • Ensure 24/7 availability of cloud services, minimising downtime and disruptions. • Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., DevOps, Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Solutions, Data) to facilitate the seamless integration & operation of cloud solutions. The successful applicant will have (but not limited to): • Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of the Azure cloud computing platform, services and native solutions. Specifically proficient in Bicep language for deployment of Azure resources, landing zones, etc. via DevOps principles and tools, as well as cloud infrastructure management, including provisioning, monitoring, scaling, and cost management. • Operations Management: A track record of successfully managing cloud operations, including provisioning, monitoring, troubleshooting, and scaling cloud resources, along with adherence to ITIL practice and principles for service management to deliver incident management, problem resolution, change control and disaster recovery planning & testing. • Strategic Support: Ability to contribute to the implementation of cloud initiatives aligned with broader IT strategies. • Security and Compliance: Knowledge of industry and cloud security best-practices and experience implementing security measures to ensure data protection and compliance. • Industry-recognised Certification: Azure Administrator Associate, or a relevant DevOps Engineer qualification How can we benefit you?
