About the roleThe purpose of this role is to work in partnership with women to provide contemporary evidence-based women and baby focused care, in collaboration with the interprofessional health care team to facilitate optimal health outcomes and undertake delegated activities while assuming individual accountability for actions within the position and context of practice.About youOur ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with Metro North Health's values:Fulfill the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 8, Nurses, and Midwives (Queensland Health and Department of Education) Certified Agreement (EB11) (2022) - Midwifery Generic Level Statements (GLS) Midwife Grade 5 and the Queensland Health and Metro North Health's commitments and values, in achievement of organizational goals and Domains of Practice.Practice in accordance with the code of ethics, professional standards, and legislation affecting midwifery practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of the position.Apply clinical midwifery expertise, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to deliver a high standard of woman and baby-centered care.Develop individualized care plans in partnership with women for antenatal, postnatal, and intrapartum care, extending to women's health, sexual or reproductive health, preparation for parenthood, and childcare.Maintain woman and baby safety, risk minimization, and safe work activities within the practice setting.Respond appropriately to sudden alterations in the health status of the woman and baby using comprehensive midwifery assessment and intervention skills.Health EquityAll Metro North Health staff, including this role, are expected to contribute to the health equity agenda by supporting actions that meet the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
