Your Day-to-Day
You'll play an important role in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for our guests and colleagues by:
* Perform routine maintenance, repair tasks and preventative maintenance on guest rooms, facilities and equipment
* Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with equipment and systems
* Install and repair plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
* Repair and replace damaged or worn parts
* Perform carpentry, painting, and other general maintenance tasks
* Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work
* Respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed
* Ensure that all work is completed safely and in compliance with relevant regulations and standards
What We're Looking For
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Proven experience as a Handyman, maintenance, facilities role (hotel experience highly regarded) or similar role
* Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, can-do attitude
* Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
* Experience with carpentry, painting, and other general maintenance tasks
* Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems with equipment and systems
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
* Understanding of WHS and safe work practices
* Trade qualifications are an advantage but not essential

* Part-time position
* Full availability preferred with flexible hours, including weekends as required
* Based on-site at voco Melbourne Central
