The Role
We’re looking for a Communications Officer with a creative edge and visual flair. Ideally, you have experience in graphic design or live scribing—the art of turning real-time discussions into engaging visual summaries using text and illustrations.
In this role, you’ll support the graphic needs of our co-design activities while delivering strategic communications for change and transformation. We value expertise in:
* Enterprise Transformation Communications: Crafting messages that drive large-scale change.
* Visual Scribing: Capturing key ideas from live events in an engaging, graphical format.
* Corporate Graphic Design: Designing impactful products for transformation and events.

About our Team
As part of its ERP Transformation Program, the Department of Defence is establishing a new Co-Design Centre (CDC) to strengthen its capability in stakeholder engagement and collaborative solution development. The CDC will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of user-centred, effective outcomes that meet departmental needs and realise the full benefits of ERP investment.
* Be part of a high-impact program shaping the future of Defence.
* Work with senior executives and cross-functional teams on enterprise-level change.
* Work as part of a small, exciting unit to support transformation and grow collaboration as a way of solving problems across Defence;
* Contribute strategically to the evolution of the Co-Design Centre.

This role is perfect for someone passionate about creating meaningful connections through design and storytelling in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You’ll support co-design activities by producing engaging communication products—such as live visual scribing—while developing and executing communication plans that deliver clear messaging and drive enterprise transformation.
You are a creative, strategic thinker who can turn diverse ideas into compelling narratives. You excel at building relationships across stakeholder groups and have experience crafting communication products that are both engaging and strategically aligned. You bring:
