Job Overview
This role involves a trade qualified mechanical maintenance professional to join our Asset Management team. The position is based in Tasmania, Australia and offers a permanent full-time position with a competitive base salary and annual incentive program.
* Assisting with studying of technical drawings and specifications to diagnose equipment breakdowns and faults
* Fitting fabricated metal/mechanical parts into equipment and assembling metal/mechanical parts and subassemblies to produce machines and mechanical equipment
* Performing preventive maintenance tasks such as inspections, measurements, and scoping of maintenance work
* Checking fabricated and assembled Metal/Mechanical parts for accuracy, clearance, and fit using precision measuring instruments
* Setting guides, stops, and other controls on machining tools, setting up prescribed cutting and shaping tools and dies in machines and presses, and setting controls for textile machines
* Using machining tools to press, cut, grind, plane, bore, and drill metal
* Cutting, threading, bending, and installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines
* Diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machines, overhauling, and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power (Hydraulic/Pneumatic) equipment
* Opportunities to erect machines and equipment on-site
We structure our day work as 4 X 10.5hr days from Monday to Thursday, allowing you to balance your work and commitments. As a shutdown team, there may be shuts that require some 12hr day/night work.
As a Mechanical Maintenance Professional, you will be responsible for routine maintenance tasks, conducting repairs, and ensuring the safety and efficiency of our operations. You will collaborate with our team to identify and implement process improvements and contribute to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
