Your new role
We are seeking an experienced and detail‐oriented Accountant to join a well‐established, privately owned organisation operating across multiple business units. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting, while supporting operational and strategic decision‐making across the business.
Responsibilities
* Manage month‐end processes including reconciliations, reporting, and variance analysis
* Maintain fixed asset register and ensure accurate depreciation
* Prepare and lodge BAS and assist with tax compliance
* Process intercompany transactions and support financial reporting accuracy
* Assist with year‐end audit preparation and liaise with external auditors
* Support budgeting, forecasting, and annual reporting requirements
* Oversee payroll processing, including statutory obligations and employee support
* Assist with commission calculations and payments
* Manage credit cards
* Authorise payments and support banking and cash flow activities
* Contribute to process improvements and finance projects
* Provide support across finance functions (AP, AR, and reporting) as required
* Handle ad hoc duties and support the CFO as needed
Qualifications
* Degree qualified in Accounting or Finance
* Experience in a similar role within a commercial environment
* Strong technical accounting capability, particularly in general ledger and reporting
* Advanced Excel skills and experience with multiple ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Xero, payroll systems)
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Proactive, solutions‐focused mindset with a can‐do attitude
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast‐paced environment
