Adolescent Family Counsellor Position
The Adolescent and Family Counsellor provides person-centred support and a strengths-based, psychological therapeutic approach to assisting young people and families.
The primary goal is to offer assistance in reconciliation between young people and their families, helping them stay together or work towards independent living where appropriate.

Main Responsibilities
* Offer person-centred support and a strengths-based approach to counselling for young people and families.
* Provide information, advice, support, advocacy and counselling services along with medium to long term casework, mediation and referrals to relevant agencies or services.
* Develop and facilitate skills-based groups to improve life skills for young people and parenting skills for families.
* Maintain linkages with government, community and other stakeholders.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and work independently when required.

Required Skills and Qualifications
* Demonstrated skills in assessment, referrals, and coordination of care for young people.
* Experience using person-centred frameworks and a strengths-based approach in casework and counselling, with various counselling modalities.
* Highly developed interpersonal skills and knowledge of mediation and conflict resolution.
* Ability to develop and implement skills-based groups with young people and parents.
* Willingness to obtain necessary certifications and undertake a pre-employment medical check.
