About Us
Coastal Electrics is a growing electrical contractor servicing WA’s mining, industrial and resource sectors. With approximately 20 office staff and 120 blue-collar employees across a mix of casual and full-time FIFO roles, we operate in a fast-paced and hands-on environment. Based in Rockingham, with a secondary operational office in Wedgefield, we are continuing to grow and strengthen our internal systems and processes, including the implementation of ELMO HR management system.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and capable HR Generalist to join our team in a standalone, full-time role.
This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys working autonomously, partnering closely with leaders, and supporting the full employee lifecycle across a dynamic operational business. You will play a key role in providing practical HR support, managing workforce matters, improving systems and processes, and ensuring HR practices are compliant and fit for purpose.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide practical HR advice and support to leaders across the business
* Manage end-to-end recruitment, onboarding and mobilisation
* Support performance review and development processes
* Lead employee relations matters, including investigations, performance management and disciplinary processes
* Ensure compliance across employment legislation, modern awards, policies and procedures
* Maintain and improve HR documentation, systems and processes
* Provide HR reporting and workforce data insights
* Support employee engagement and retention initiatives
* Support the implementation and ongoing optimisation of ELMO
* Support payroll processing and ensure payroll inputs and employee data are accurate and compliant
About You
* Previous experience in a HR Generalist, HR Advisor or standalone HR role
* Strong employee relations capability and confidence managing matters independently
* Experience in mining, construction, contracting or another operational environment preferred
* Sound understanding of Australian employment legislation, modern awards and HR best practice
* Experience with HR systems and payroll-related processes
* Practical, organised and able to work autonomously
* Strong communication skills and a solutions-focused approach
