Job Title:

Welding Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop, implement and maintain welding procedures, work instructions and supporting documentation.
* Prepare and control Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) and welder qualification records.
* Oversee and coordinate welding and fabrication activities to meet safety, quality, time and cost targets.
* Maintain accurate traceability records, job packs and documentation in line with ISO 9001 standards.
* Conduct or coordinate inspection and NDT visual, magnetic particle and dye penetrant testing.
* Review welding quality, perform in-process and final inspections and address non-conformances.
* Conduct internal welding audits and support external/client audits as required.
* Manage welder qualifications and continuity records.
* Provide technical support direction and mentoring to welders and apprentices.
* Promote and enforce safe work practices PPE compliance and correct welding controls.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

* A trade qualification Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication Trade Boilermaking/Welding or equivalent.
* Certificate IV in Engineering or Fabrication post-trade or equivalent.
* An AS 1796 Certificate 10 Welding Supervisor and/or AS 2214 Welding Supervisor Structural Steel highly regarded.
* Experience with NDT visual MT PT Level 2 qualifications or willingness to obtain.
* A strong understanding of welding standards e.g. AS/NZS 1554 AS 1796 AS/NZS ISO 9606-1.
* Demonstrated experience supervising fabrication/welding teams in a heavy manufacturing environment.
* Solid documentation traceability and record management skills.
* Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems and ITPs.
* A strong focus on safety process control and continuous improvement.
* Leadership qualities with the ability to coach and support others.
