We are seeking a highly capable Commercial Business Development Manager (BDM) with a strong technical foundation to drive sales growth and market expansion across key sectors, including water treatment, agriculture, irrigation, building services (HVAC/cooling towers), and aquatics. In this role, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities while nurturing existing client relationships to enhance market presence and revenue.
You'll be responsible for achieving and exceeding sales targets by identifying and capitalising on new business opportunities. This role requires the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, industry stakeholders, and decision-makers while providing technical expertise and product recommendations to support customer needs. The BDM will collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to drive strategic initiatives and ensure alignment with business goals.
What You'll Be Doing
* Drive strategic sales and deliver on growth targets across key commercial sectors
* Build and manage strong relationships with engineers, consultants, and industry stakeholders
* Provide technical insights and product application support across all commercial pumping systems
* Identify and secure specification opportunities with key influencers and project stakeholders
* Deliver accurate sales forecasts and maintain a healthy opportunity pipeline
* Stay across industry trends, regulatory shifts, and competitor offerings
* Collaborate with internal teams to develop go-to-market strategies and client solutions
What We're Looking For
* Graduate engineer (mechanical, mechatronics, environmental or similar) with 5+ years' experience in a technical/commercial role.
* Candidates without an engineering qualification but with demonstrated expertise and knowledge in pumping through areas of industrial water treatment, HVAC and building services, irrigation and agriculture are encouraged to apply
* Proven track record in consulting, B2B sales, business development, or technical account management
* Good understanding of pumping systems, and related infrastructure solutions
* Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to influence technical and commercial stakeholders
* Existing industry contacts among consulting engineers, contractors, or asset managers is highly desirable
* Self-starter with excellent commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and pipeline discipline
* Willingness to travel regionally and interstate as needed
