As a Project Engineer / Estimator, you will support both project delivery and tender preparation, ensuring projects are accurately costed, well planned and delivered efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Engineering & Delivery
* Provide planning, engineering, project management and site construction support on complex formwork projects
* Work with Project Managers and Program Planners on preliminary and detailed project scoping, initial costing and planning
* Assist in managing the delivery of construction projects from planning through to completion
* Monitor performance against project programs and cost forecasts
* Identify, report and mitigate performance issues and project risks
* Assist in developing and reviewing Management Plans and SWMS
* Ensure compliance with OH&S, environmental and quality requirements
* Manage relationships with key stakeholders including builders, subcontractors and suppliers
* Work closely with business management on project delivery and reporting
Estimating & Tendering
* Prepare construction estimates for formwork on large-scale projects
* Manage and review formwork construction tenders
* Attend site inspections and tender meetings as required
* Negotiate supply agreements and subcontract pricing to secure competitive rates
* Assist with business development initiatives through industry relationships
About you:
We are looking for a motivated professional with strong technical, commercial and stakeholder management skills.
You will have:
* Australian Citizenship
* Fluent English with strong written and verbal communication skills
* Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
* Qualifications in Engineering or Construction Management are acceptable to meet the tertiary qualification requirement
* Exposure to Tier 1 large-scale construction projects
* Minimum 3+ years' experience in a formwork environment (essential)
* Experience in project engineering, estimating or project planning within formwork construction
* The 3+ years formwork experience must be specifically in project engineering, estimating or project planning roles
* Strong understanding of project planning, execution and financial reporting
* Experience preparing construction estimates and tenders
* Strong negotiation, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
* Proven ability to build relationships with clients, contractors and suppliers
* Strong safety focus and understanding of OH&S requirements
* Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
* Current Australian driver's licence
