Journalism Specialist (AI Research Project) –Role Overview
We are seeking experienced journalism professionals for a paid, remote research project in collaboration with a leading AI research lab. The initiative focuses on improving how advanced AI systems generate, evaluate, and fact-check content according to established journalistic standards.
This role is ideal for journalists and editors who want to apply their editorial judgement to emerging AI technologies while working flexibly and independently.
Key Responsibilities
* Review and edit AI-generated news articles and media content for accuracy, tone, and clarity
* Fact-check written content using professional journalistic standards
* Design and assess journalism-focused prompts, scenarios, and evaluation criteria
* Provide structured feedback on credibility, sourcing, and editorial quality
* Collaborate with researchers by simulating real-world newsroom and editorial workflows
Ideal Qualifications
* 3+ years of experience in a newsroom, media organization, or as a freelance journalist
* Strong editorial judgment and exceptional attention to factual accuracy
* Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
* Experience across multiple journalistic formats (e.g., investigative, opinion, breaking news)
* Degree in journalism, communications, or a related field preferred

* Time commitment: 10+ hours per week
