Finisar Australia is seeking a talented Fitter and Machinist to join our team in Sydney.
Key responsibilities
* Fabricate and modify production and machine parts, from drawings or samples
* Collaborate with engineers on new designs and contribute practical fabrication insight
* Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical systems
* Maintain workshop tools and machinery
Necessary Skills and Experience
* Trade qualification as a Fitter and Machinist or equivalent experience
* Proficiency with lathes, mills, drills, and precision measuring instruments
* Strong mechanical aptitude and mechanical drawing reading
* Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues
* Intermediate computer literacy for job tracking and documentation
* Expertise in CNC machining/CAD/CAM systems
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Experience in manufacturing or production support environments
* Basic understanding of electrical or pneumatic systems
